TERMINALLY ILL PERSON'S LETTER TO NIMBIN.

To Whom It May Concern,

I made up my mind to write to the Nimbin town people - as I have a couple of things to say (a letter writer I am not) but I feel so strong about what is going on in your town. For over the last three years I have been coming down as I am terminal and the health prospect are not good. On twenty two pills a day, not sleeping or eating, I have no life, went down to 45kg in weight. It is thank to the cannabis I am alive - it true I never smoked as a youngster.

I am now 38 years old, I feel it is wrong, maybe it is the law, why is it when we come down the kids don't even let us out of the car ask us do we want some smoke, plus they say they can get anything. However I don't deal with on the street or with the kids that are in groups and are getting away with it. The coffee shop been owned by adults not selling in big amounts, I felt they were here for the people and the sick. Never has an adult asked or pushed me to bye any other drugs, I feel for the small business - yes I can go back to pubs in Brisbane as I have sit in a bar then I get ripped off, as the big dealers are making a killing, they don't even have to make coffee or help the community.

I feel it is wrong, when will the police wake up - yes is their job to keep law and order, I feel this have gone to far, it's funny how Nimbin went through over 100,000 needles last year and the kids are atill on the street from 8.30am till 3.30pm when they should be in school (ha ha) or just keep out of town, Nimbin gets the blame for it all. Nimbin was or is a co/op getting the money into the town, the takers are the ones who don't live there, I feel for the town and the police. I think it was a good idea that you have to get over the counter, the person was able to control it a bit more than on the street. I have specialists and doctors who say that smoke helps people like myself, so who is selfish here, to the cannabis dealers - thank you, to the drug dealers who don't care, who are just there for the dollars. I don't have anything to say apart from you have destroyed someone, I went for help and pain relief is no more, the kids/the people who do the wrong thing will still be there.

My carer and myself made it a day out and not only did I get my smokie, we had lunch and spend money in the town. Even birthdays and christmas I brought from Nimbin to help small business.
