PEACE - POT FOR PEACE, PEACE FOR POT

(Hope you get a laugh out of this)

"Cannabis triggers psychosis." This is a statement that pops up from time to
time. Somehow that word 'triggers' sounds more important than it is.

Psychotic events can be triggered by almost anything, shock, bereavement,
separation, or a butterfly landing on a cup on a balmy afternoon. Psychosis
can even be triggered (shock horror) by strong liquor! To be a trigger is
not a unique thing.

Smoking cannabis may unmask madness in a few, but there is no guarantee that
it will unmask all cases, so it is not even a useful tool for exposing the
potentially mad. Pity really. It would be good to have a substance like that
to test politicians with, to see if they were mad without having to go
through a parliamentary term with them first to find out.

Otherwise there just aren't enough mad people who definitely got that way
through smoking pot to be convincing. In the courts I suspect that a lot of
crazed amphetamine users might pretend they only had a joint to get a
lighter sentence. Some might blame a madness on drugs because that is
obviously a more comfortable stance than admitting a personal defect.

That's so true. Anything is more comfortable than admitting a personal
defect. That can be very hard to deal with. Everyone has to pretend that
they are alright, and that someone else is the problem. Sometimes whole
populations get neurotic about how correct everyone is and have a good
persecution to bond and reassure themselves. Sometimes individuals break
down, and the causes of that are as complex as humans themselves.

This murder, insanity, death propaganda has been going on for seventy years
like a cracked record. Thankfully there are always those who analyse
research, from both sides of the division, and publish criticism where it is
felt warranted. There is no such thing as bodgy doctored truth; only bodgy
doctored lies. If something is true, it makes itself obvious very quickly.

We've had ten thousand years of cannabis use now. Why wasn't there evidence
of this a little sooner than the claims of the last seventy years? Where are
all the cannabis murders, where is all the cannabis insanity, and where is
there a single solitary cannabis death? I haven't seen any breasty smokers
lately, nor have i seen any problems with reproduction. I live in Nimbin.
Why haven't I seen this? I'm right where everything is open to be seen, and
I'm not seeing any of that. Is this a non-core truth or something?

The Nationals might be surprised how many people that smoke pot still
support them politically, just because the pot isn't all that important to
them. Are these people insane?
Suddenly sanity is measured by your political perspective. Ouch! Damn that
plank in my eye!

It would be good if the RTA could put out a pamphlet letting the populace
know how long after a standard joint one has to wait before they can legally
drive. Are there any guidelines for this with respect to illegal drugs? I
think this should be made available so that all closet cannabis smokers and
assorted others can remain law abiding citizens - with regard to their
driving habits at least, just like responsible drinkers.

After all, we would all like to be able to respect and obey the law.
